UFC Releases Statement on UFC.com Being Hacked Over the Weekend

|

On Sunday (Jan.22) peoples Facebook and Twitter feeds were blasted with “OMG UFC.com has been hacked.” It was suspected that the website was hacked due to the UFC supporting SOPA. The site was hacked by a fellow named  Josh Matthews.

@JoshTheGod, spearheaded the charge for UgNazi.com, posted this on his Twitter account shortly after ,”UFC.com hacked By UGNazi.com #Megaupload #UFC #Hack #ugnazi #joshthegod.”

Dana White made an interesting response to someone via twitter on the day that it happened.

@DanaWhite, “I could give a flying rats ass about UFC. Com : ) , I’m the fight biz not the website biz!! Might be a big deal to other companies not mine.”

Today the UFC released a statement to MMAFighting

“On Sunday, January 22nd, the UFC.com website was redirected by a criminal hacker to another website,” a statement provided to MMA Fighting read. “The UFC website was quickly restored to the control of the UFC, and there is no evidence suggesting that any confidential information belonging to the company or its customers was compromised by the re-direction of the website. UFC representatives are continuing to investigate the matter and are working with law enforcement agents to prosecute those involved.”

Obviously hackers are taking this SOPA stuff very seriously, what are your thoughts on the matter?
