Jose Aldo likely to face Erik Koch at UFC 147 or UFC 149

|

While not officially announced, it looks like Jose Aldo has learned who his next opponent will be.

Sources close to both fighters have said that Jose Aldo will take on Erik Koch for his 145 pound title.

It was originally stated that Jose Aldo would be defending his championship at UFC 149 in Calgary, however now that UFC 147 is without a main event, UFC President Dana White has stated that it is likely that Aldo could move into that slot.

If everything goes to plan, Erik Koch will step in and face-off for the title after a long lay-off. Koch has not fought since he defeated Jonathon Brookins in September of last year. He was expected to take on Dustin Poirier in what many thought was a number one contender bout in February, but unfortunately had to pull out due to injury.

Koch trains with the likes of Anthony Pettis, Ben Askren and Alan Belcher with legendary trainer Duke Roufus. You can expect fireworks in this fight, as both men are known for their highlight reel KO’s.
