Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar 2 official for UFC 150

It was the main event, then it wasn’t the main event. At least this is what the rumors were saying. UFC President Dana White has now made it official that Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar would be the main event for UFC 150 in Denver, Colorado.

White cleared the air on Tuesday’s episode of UFC Tonight on FUEL TV. “Benson and Edgar will fight August 11th,” said White.

This will be a rematch, following their first bout where Henderson defeated Edgar to be declared the UFC lightweight champion. The two first met at UFC 144 in Japan.

The fight was so close, that the UFC awarded Edgar an automatic rematch. The judges scorecards has the fight a unanimous decision victory for Henderson, however many people, even Dana White had thought Edgar had won.

UFC 150 will take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on August 11.
