Bellator sign King Mo, professional wrestling deal included

|

Muhammed Lawal, more prominently referred to as ‘King Mo’ has been a talking point for a long time since his sudden departure from the Strikeforce light-heavyweight ranks but it seems he has found a new home.

FightHype.com were first on the scene to report news that Lawal has inked a deal with number-two ranked organization Bellator Fighting Championships.

Lawal parlayed a national wrestling championship career into a successful mixed martial arts career, capturing the Strikeforce light-heavyweight crown along the way. The once beaten OSU Cowboy hasn’t competed since he defeated Lorenz Larkin, later testing positive for Drostanolone.

But punching fools in the face isn’t all there is to this story, in addition to fighting in the Chicago-based organizations circular cage he will be a welcome addition to the TNA wrestling roster.

The charismatic American Kickboxing Academy standout has had interest in testing the waters in pro wrestling for quite some time and adding him to their roster shakes things up dramatically.

Currently on WWE television former UFC heavyweight kingpin Brock Lesnar has transitioned well back into his former role as a certified badass in their organization so TNA President Dixie Carter will look to make a similar impact with the addition of Lawal.

The real issue is whether or not he can excel in both fields, we saw ex-WWE star Bobby Lashley attempt to balance an MMA career and wrestling career with TNA to no success.

Lawal will be able to enter the cage again in September since his twelve month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission got reduced and we could see him in the TNA ring as soon as their Sacrifice pay-per-view this Sunday night.

The news is set to be official with the announcement on MMA Uncensored tonight following TNA wrestling.
