UFC veteran and former light heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz is set to grace the octagon for the final time at UFC 148 against Forrest Griffin. Prior to the fight, Ortiz will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
Following the UFC 150 press conference, UFC President Dana White confirmed the details to MMAWeekly.com, “He pound for pound was doing some of the most damage at a time when we were hurting. But it’s part of our history the way the storylines played out between me, Chuck and Tito. He’s definitely a part of the history of the sport.”
Ortiz will be the first inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame since 2010, when they honored Matt Hughes. He will also join the likes of Randy Couture, Dan Severn and Chuck Liddell as one of the men who paved the way for this young sport we call MMA.
Ortiz mentioned to MMASucka.com that in retirement he will focus on pushing his brand, Punishment Athletics and possibly move into coaching.
