Rousimar Palhares vs. Yushin Okami set to go down at UFC 150

The injury bug does not seem to be going away anytime soon. This time the UFC 150 card has taken a hit, as Luiz Cane has been forced to withdraw from his fight against Yushin Okami in Denver.

UFC officials made the announcement on Monday.

Brazilian striker Luiz Cane has been injured and forced out of his UFC 150 bout against Japan’s Yushin Okami. Stepping in to meet Okami will be Cane’s countryman, submission specialist Rousimar Palhares.

Rousimar Palhares (14-4) will look to get himself back in the win column after a TKO stoppage at the hands of Alan Belcher at UFC on Fox 3 back in May. Prior to the loss, Palhares was on a three fight winning streak and looks to get himself back into title contention.

Okami (26-7) who was a long time number one contender, finally had his chance at Anderson Silva and failed, losing by TKO. He then took on Tim Boetsch back at UFC 144 in Japan. He had the better of Boetsch in the first two rounds, but Okami was TKO’d in the third round.

This fight will be on the UFC 150 main card. In the main event Benson Henderson will take on Frankie Edgar in the long anticipated rematch for the light heavyweight championship.
