The Singapore-based ONE Fighting Championship made a comment through its official Facebook page, indicating that ‘Iron Fist’ Ole Laursen will not be fighting when the promotion heads to Manilla on August 31st.

Details are unknown as to why Laursen was scrapped from the fight card, although an injury may have forced the 34-year-old to sit on the side-lines.

ONE FC 5: Pride of a Nation is set to go down on August 31st, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manilla Philippines – the same venue that was used to host the epic ‘Thrilla in Manilla’ showdown between Boxing legends Muhammad Ali and Joe Frasier.

A rematch was expected to be on the works between URCC Champion Eduard Folayang and Ole Laursen, following the latter’s controversial Decision win at the promotion’s ‘War of the Lions’ event back in March.

Now, however, it’s apparent that Folayang will be having a new opponent. And he will be joined, on the fight card, by the likes of grappling maestro Shinya Aoki, former DREAM champion Bibiano Fernandes, the Gracies, and many more – making this the biggest event in the history of Filipino Mixed Martial Arts.
