Clements gets Riddle’d by a sick arm triangle in Round 3

|

This fight has “Fight of the Night” written all over it.

Both men came out swinging, however Riddle took control of the first round. He threw a powerful liver kick, however the referee thought it was a low blow and stopped the fight.

In round 2 Clements started to open up on Riddle. Riddle took the fight to the ground and controlled him in every position. From start to almost the finish of round 2 Riddle controlled the ground game. As Joe Rogan said “Complete Grappling Superiority.”

The third round began with a hug from both competitors. The pace to the fight had not slowed down at all. Riddle grabbed an arm triangle on a missed punch by Clements and tripped him down to finish the fight.

Following the fight both men spoke about the fight.

MATTHEW RIDDLE

“I got out there and had a good time.  The UFC loves me and I love the UFC. I also love hearing the crowd roar so I try to give them a good show.  My arm triangle went from ok to outstanding.  I trained hard and improved on a lot of things and I think it showed out there.  I used my grappling to try and take him to the ground because I knew Chris was a worldclass striker.  He landed some good elbows but I played my stregnths and it worked.

CHRIS CLEMENTS

“I wasn’t good out there and didn’t get the win. I tried to give it all I could but I could hardly breath. I couldn’t catch my breath and it hurt me in the end.”
