In the main event at UFC 149, Renan Barao captured the interim bantamweight championship by defeating Urijah Faber in a five round battle. He dominated Faber for all five rounds and was able to score on all three judges scorecards, 49-46, 50-45, 49-46.
Next for Barao if all the stars align, is a unification bout for the undisputed UFC bantamweight championship against champ Dominick Cruz.
