Former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion, Alistair Overeem is itching to get back inside the octagon and fight whoever the UFC decides to put in front of him.
Overeem is sitting on the side lines and will hopefully make his return in December, which is when the Nevada State Athletic Commission will decide his fate. The last time “The Demolition Man” graced the octagon was back at UFC 141 in Las Vegas, Nevada where he laid down a beating on former champ Brock Lesnar. That fight put him right into the number one contender spot.
He has made it clear that he is not afraid of current heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos and he definitely feels he will be able to dominate him.
MMAWeekly has video of Overeem speaking about his time off, who and when he’d like to fight and of course his thoughts on Junior dos Santos.
“This time off is perfect. After this, I have a full four years of dedication (to fighting). For me it doesn’t matter when I fight. I don’t need to have a warm-up fight. I’m gonna leave that up to the gentlemen of the UFC to decide. If they want me to go for the title, I’m ready for that … I’m gonna lay low and fight whoever they put in front of me. I’m gonna get my hands on [Dos Santos] and when I do, he’s all mine.”
