Thiago Silva vs. Stanislav Nedkov to square off at UFC on FUEL TV 6

|

UFC on FUEL TV 6 gets another match-up, this time in the light heavyweight division.

Thiago Silva is expected to square off against Stanislav Nedkov as the UFC embarks on China this November.

The bout was announced by Silva’s manager, Glenn Robinson on tonight’s “SRN Rewind.”

Silva (14-3 1 NC) was expected to face Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event at UFC 149, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. He has not set foot inside the octagon since losing to Alexander Gustafsson back at UFC on FUEL TV: Gustafsson vs. Silva. Prior to the loss he fought Brandon Vera at UFC 125 and was busted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for  altering a urinalysis test following the bout. He served a year long suspension.

Nedkov (12-0) made his UFC debut at UFC 134 and defeated Luiz Cane by TKO in the first round. The bout with Silva will be his first fight back after a year layoff due to injuries. He will look to keep his undefeated record in-tact with a win over Silva.

Although not officially announced by the UFC, expect the Silva vs. Nedkov bout to be on the main card. UFC on FUEL TV 6 is expected to go down on November 10 at Cotai Arena in Macau. It is expected to be headlined by a middleweight showdown between former Strikeforce champion Cung Le and former UFC champion Rich Franklin.
