UFC on FOX 5 has easily become one of the most star studded cards and with the addition of Mike Swick vs. Matt Brown and Brendan Schaub vs. Lavar Johnson, it has added to the depth.
UFC officials announced those two match-ups on Monday evening.
UFC on FOX 5’s stacked card has added even more star power, with heavyweight power punchers Lavar “Big” Johnson and Brendan “The Hybrid” Schaub verbally agreeing to fight December 8 in Seattle, Washington.
Verbals are also in for two of the most exciting fighters in the welterweight division to meet as Matt “The Immortal” Brown takes on Mike “Quick” Swick at that event.
Swick (15-4) was on the last UFC on FOX card, where he made a spectacular return to the octagon after two and a half years. He knocked out DeMarques Johnson in the second round of their televised fight.
Brown (15-11) is currently on a three fight win streak, with his most recent victory being a TKO over Luis Ramos at UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida.
Schaub (8-3) will be looking to get back into the win column, as he lost his last two fights to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Ben Rothwell.
Johnson (17-6) won his octagon debut back at Joey Beltran and followed up with a victory over Pat Barry. He lost his most recent fight to Stefan Struve and will look to get into the win column as well with a victory over Schaub.
UFC on FOX 5 is set to go down on December 8 in Seattle, Washington. It is expected to be headlined by a UFC lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and Nate Diaz.
