The super-fight that every MMA fan wants to see is Anderson Silva vs. Georges St-Pierre. It sounds like both parties are welcoming the idea as well. UFC President Dana White made it clear that if GSP defeats Carlos Condit at UFC 154 this November, then it is a definitely possibility that he could fight Silva.
The 185lbs king-pin recently spoke with SportTV and let people know that he does not care whether St-Pierre wins or loses against Condit; he wants that fight.
“Regardless of who wins, even if St. Pierre loses, a fight with me can happen. A fight like this is above anything else. St. Pierre is one of the greatest of the UFC. Right now, a fight with Condit is meaningless.”
This fight will let the MMA world know who the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world really is.
St-Pierre is set to take on Carlos Condit following a year and a half lay-off. His last time in the octagon was when he fought against Jake Shields at UFC 129 back in April 2011. GSP was recently medically cleared to take the fight with the interim champ Condit at UFC 154 on November 17 in Montreal.
Silva is expected to be out of action until 2013. His last time inside the octagon was at UFC 148, where he beat his arch-nemesis Chael Sonen by TKO.
Whether or not this fight will actually go down is yet to be seen. In the meantime keep it locked to MMASucka.com for more news as it occurs.
