Zorobabel Moreira faces Kotetsu Boku for Lightweight strap at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings

|

Evolve MMA’s Zorobabel Moreira (7-1) and former Shooto champion Kotetsu Boku (18-6-2) will contest for ONE Fighting Championship’s first-ever Lightweight belt.

The Singapore-based ONE FC made the announcement on its Facebook page.

This is one of three title-fights that will be showcased in the promotion’s upcoming event.

Headlined by a Super-fight between former DREAM titleholder Shinya Aoki and Frenchman Arnaud ‘The Game’ Lepont, ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings is set to go down on October 6th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

Zorobabel Moreira, a BJJ World Champion, was originally slated to face Ole Laursen for the 155-lbs strap. However, following the latter’s unexpected expulsion from the card, the match-up was scrapped.

Having gone 3-0 under the promotion banner, it looks like Moreira will have his opportunity at a ONE FC title after all.

His opponent, Kotetsu Boku, in the meantime, is no slouch. With a resume that includes bouts with the likes of Joachim Hansen and Hermes Franca, the 35-year-old is a former Shooto titleholder and a veteran of over 20 professional MMA fights. The Japanese fighter will look to keep his 4-fight win streak in tact when he makes his promotional ONE FC debut on October 6th.
