PXC 34 Features Top Prospects, in Hawaii vs. Japan Matchups

|

PXC-34, set to take place on November 17th, will feature 2 of the top MMA prospects from the Hawaiian Islands in the biggest fights of their young careers against dangerous Japanese MMA talent looking to make statements in their PXC debuts. Featherweight – Dustin Kimura, and Bantamweight – Russell Doane, will match up with veteran Shooto fighter, Guy Delumeau, and undefeated Michinori Tanaka, respectively, in front of thousands at the famed Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines. PXC-34 will be broadcast live nation-wide in the Philippines on AKTV, as well as stream online for fans in Hawaii and Japan, as well as the rest of the world!

Kimura is undefeated in professional MMA competition (8-0), and is often talked about as the best Hawaiian fighter not currently in The UFC. In a recent interview in the US, Kimura stated,

“I’m honored to be able to fight for an organization like PXC. They have a great roster of talent at my weight; I look forward to climbing the ladder starting in November.”

Kimura is a ground specialist, winning 5 of his 8 fights by submission and competes primarily as a Featherweight (145 pounds).

PXC-34 will be Kimura’s international debut, as he takes on Japan’s Guy Delumeau (16-7), an experienced fighter from the famed Gutsman Dojo in Tokyo who has made a name for himself in Shooto and Pancrase competition. According to Kimura,

“Guy is a very tough fighter; he will be the most experienced fighter I’ve faced yet. I am training very hard for this fight and can’t wait to give the Philippines crowd a show!”

Bantamweight, Russell Doane (8-0), is also talked about as the best young Hawaiian prospects for the UFC, and is making his return to Manila after an impressive debut in PXC-33 on September 1st. Doane won a unanimous decision battle against Japan’s Masato Sannai, showcasing excellent striking skills, as well as powerful takedowns and control on the ground. Another victory in PXC-34 in November will make a strong argument for Doane to be considered as the top contender for the PXC Bantamweight belt!

Japan’s Michinori Tanaka also puts his undefeated record (5-0) on the line, with all wins in Shooto competition against other up and coming Japanese and Korean fighters. In his young career, his highlights include a victory in the 2011 Shooto Rookies Tournament Final. Tanaka trains at Reversal Gym Yokohama Ground Slam alongside some of the top stars of Shooto and Japanese MMA, and is expected to represent Japan as a major threat in the PXC Bantamweight division.

With 2 PXC fighters being signed to The UFC in the last 3 months, PXC showcases the best up-and-coming MMA talent in the Asia-Pacific region. These top prospects from Hawaii and Japan are definitely on the top of the list of “fighters to watch out for.”

PXC is presented by San Mig Strong Ice and Sports 5. With special thanks to E-Games, Fitness First, FHM Philippines, FHM.com.ph, Premiere Condoms, Healthway Agility Phil, Beer Below Zero, Real Sports Radio, and Loqal.ph.
