The Maximum Fighting Championship has added one more to their expanding lightweight roster.
Late Monday evening it was announced that Daniel Swain (6-2) had signed a multi-fight deal with the MFC. The Spokane, Washington native will debut this Friday night at MFC 35 against Matt Jelly (3-1). Jelly’s original opponent unfortunately fell through, so Swain took the chance to fight for the MFC.
MMASucka.com caught up with Swain’s manager, Darcy McBride of Echelon Fighter Management and he extremely excited for his client.
“Daniel took the fight on 5 days notice. He is looking to take his career to the next level and is currently training with AKA Prangley. The MFC is a great place for him to step up and Mark [Pavelich] appreciates guys who step up.”
Swain’s home weight class is 145lbs, however he stepped up to get a crack inside the MFC. He will make his MFC featherweight debut in February.
MFC 35 goes down this Friday night at the Mayfield Inn Trade and Conference Centre, Edmonton, Alberta. Headlining the card is a middleweight title fight between Joseph Henle and Elvis Mutapcic. The Swain vs. Jelly fight will be the last fight on the MFC 35 preliminary card.
