Luiz Cane released from the UFC following UFC 153 defeat

|

Luiz Cane (12-5, 1 NC) has been released from the UFC following his unanimous decision defeat to Chris Camozzi at UFC 154 on Oct. 13, according to a report from Brazilian news outlet TATAME.

The 31-year-old competed in the organization nine times, going 4-5 overall.

Cane’s first eight UFC fights took place in the light-heavyweight division, but after going 1-3 in his final four bouts, made the drop to 185-pounds in hopes of finding renewed success. Clearly he was unable to, as he was dropped from the organization after just one fight at middleweight.

There is no word yet on where or when the Brazilian plans to fight next.
