Bader vs. Matyushenko and Mitchell vs. Thoresen added to UFC on FOX 6 fight card

|

UFC on FOX 6 is set to invade “The Windy City” this January and UFC Officials have announced two more match-ups for that fight card.

They announced that verbal agreements are in place for a light heavyweight bout between  Vladimir Matyushenko and Ryan Bader. Also announced was a welterweight fight between David Mitchell and Simeon Thoresen.

Matyushenko (26-6) has not fought since his TKO loss to Alexander Gustafsson back at UFC 141 in December 2011. He was expected to face Matt Hamill at UFC 152, however he was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Bader (14-3) is also coming off a loss, his being to Lyoto Machida at UFC on FOX 4. He will look to rebound from that loss against the veteran Matyushenko.

Mitchell (11-2) was brought over to the UFC with a 11-0 record. He has yet to find a win inside the Octagon, as he lost his first two bouts to TJ Waldburger and Paulo Thiago.

Thoresen (17-3-1) is 3-1 in his last four fights. He won his promotional debut against Besam Yousef, however fell short against Seth Baczynski at UFC 152.

UFC on FOX 6 is set to go down on January 26 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The main event will have Demetrious Johnson look to defend his UFC Flyweight Championship for the very first time against John Dodson. Also announced for the card are Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis and Glover Teixeira vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
