Paul Daley out of Bellator's SPIKE TV debut due to bar fight assault

|

In the debut of Bellator MMA on SPIKE TV on January 13, 2013, Paul Daley was set to face off with War Machine. A couple weeks back War Machine was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a training injury. Now, to make matters worse, Daley was arrested on Christmas Day on an assault charge in connection with a recent bar fight.

The story was first broke by Josh Gross of ESPN.

Daley has competed for many different MMA promotions including UFC, Strikeforce and EliteXC. This is not the man known as “Semtex’s” first go round with controversy. He was very well known for being the welterweight fighter that kept missing weight. He was let go from the UFC when he sucker-punched Josh Koscheck following a loss at UFC 113.

No word on when he will fight for Bellator next, but he is unable to enter the United States until his legal issues are cleared.
