Many fans were upset with the stream for Invicta FC 4 on Saturday night, however during the intermission, Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp announced that the $7.95 PPV would be refunded to people who paid for it. That was not the only announcement the Prez made.
Knapp announced that Sarah Kaufman would make her Invicta FC debut at the fifth showing in April, also on the Invicta FC 5 card will be Vannessa Porto vs. Barb Honchak for the 125lbs title. Jessica Penne will also defend her atomweight championship at Invicta FC 5 as well.
Kaufman (15-2) will make her return to the cage after losing to UFC Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman back in August. She was expected to make her Invicta debut in October against Kaitlin Young, however she was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Porto (15-5) is 1-1 inside the Invicta cage, most recently defeating Tara LaRosa at Invicta FC 3. The crafty veteran will look to capture the 125lbs title when she takes on Honchak.
Honchak (7-2) has gone 2-0 with Invicta, picking up wins over Bethany Marshall and Aisling Daly. The St.Louis native will look to go 3-0 inside Invicta following her upcoming title fight.
Penne (10-1) captured the first ever Invicta FC Atomweight Championship at Invicta FC 3 where she defeated Naho Sugiyama by triangle choke. She is currently on a three fight winning streak. No word as to who she will defend her title against at this point.
