Michael Hill, Tim Jenson and Mike Adams sign multi-fight deals with Aggression Fighting Championship

|

With a continued effort to become Canada’s leading fight promotion, the AFC has taken another step in that direction with three big new signings of Michael Hill (4-0) 170, Tim Jenson (7-1) 145 and Mike Adams (7-1) 135.

Hill is coming off a recent stint in the The Ultimate Fighter  which saw him KO his first opponent to get into the house he also picked up a decision victory in the quarterfinals. Hill was a definite standout on the show both for his talent displayed and his personality. His last fight outside of the show was with Aggression where he took home a decision victory. He will be looking to make an immediate impact in the stacked AFC welterweight division. When asked about the signing Hill had this to say “I’m excited to sign with AFC because they have some of the toughest welterweights in the country, and to put on shows in the middle of both my hometowns it’ll be good to fight with family and friends behind me filling the barn!”

Hill’s first fight will be against Josh Kitchen (5-1) in Calgary on March 15.

After taking nearly 5 years off from competition Jenson burst back onto the scene in Oct. 2012 with a first round submission win. Improving the 27yr olds record to 7-1 with his only loss being a split decision and his biggest win being over now UFC fighter Jordan Mein. Jenson’s goal is to get a win in his first fight then compete for the AFC Featherweight title. “I’m excited about getting signed to AFC, with this contract; I’ve been given the opportunity to perpetuate my growth in the sport while fighting some of the nations best” said Jenson.

In Adams last fight with Aggression we saw him choke out Graham Spencer. Now competing at his natural weight class of bantamweight we can all expect even bigger things from this fighter. He holds huge wins over Kajan Johnson and Brad Cardinal at lightweight. Adams will be an immediate threat to challenge for the AFC Bantamweight title. Here’s what Adams had to say “I’m so happy to get signed by AFC, this opportunity will give me the chance to prove I’m one of the best bantamweights in the country. One of my goals in this sport was to win a Canadian title, I’m coming for the AFC bantamweight title.”

The trio’s head trainer David Lea added “AFC has always been a great company to work with. It’s a great opportunity for my guys to take their fighting careers to the next level.”

When asked about the signings AFC exec Darren Owen had this to say, “We are thrilled to be able to add such high caliber athletes to our ever growing roster of talented fighters. I’ve personally had my eye on Adams and Jenson for years now and with Hill’s recent emergence onto the Canadian scene it just makes sense for our organization and our fans to put these guys in the mix. You know what you’re going to get with a David Lea product and we couldn’t be happier to have these fighters joining the AFC family. You can expect to see them all in action this spring.”

Keep an eye out for the AFC in your area with events scheduled for Edmonton AB February 22, Calgary AB March 15, Edmonton AB March 23 as well as Winnipeg MB, Vancouver BC, and Victoria BC targeted for the near future.
