Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has been one of the best light-heavyweights on the planet for the better part of a decade but tonight in the final fight of his UFC career he couldn’t stop the game challenger, Glover Teixeria.
Teixeria smashes the perception of ‘new kid on the block with a lot to prove’ tonight when he took all three rounds on most score cards against the former UFC light-heavyweight kingpin on a huge stage. The former Pride standout began strong and found success with his jab and uppercut but later in the round the Brazilian took the reins and he didn’t let go.
Teixeria was able to take Jackson down at will and was landing with a high frequency with his uppercut and left hook that had ‘Rampage’ absolutely spent by mid-fight as it turned out to be a pretty sad spectacle as the war waged on.
When the fight was over, Teixeria took his third victory with score cards of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28 as he cements a position near the top of the division.
