Sara McMann and Alexis Davis are latest additions to UFC women’s division

|

The UFC continues to add to its women’s division. Earlier this week it was announced that Miesha Tate had signed a multi-fight deal and would be squaring off with Cat Zingano in her promotional debut. Now the organization has confirmed that they have also signed Sara McMann and Alexis Davis.

McMann (6-0) is a former Olympic silver medalist and is currently undefeated in her professional MMA career. Her last trip to the cage was against Shayna Baszler in the main event at Invicta FC 2, where she won via unanimous decision. Following that fight it was announced that she had signed with Strikeforce and was expected to face off with Liz Carmouche, but unfortunately the event was cancelled.

Davis (13-5) comes into the UFC on a two fight winning streak. Her last victory was also over Shayna Baszler and it came by rear naked choke at Invicta FC 4 in January. The Canadian fighter has gone 5-1 in her last six fights fighting under the Strikeforce and Invicta banners. Her lone loss during the streak came at the hands of fellow Canadian Sarah Kaufman.

No word as to when McMann and Davis will debut with the organization and who their opponents will be, but expect that news to come out very shortly.
