Curtis Demarce returns to action at AFC 16 on March 23

|

Curtis “The Demon” Demarce is returning to the cage March 23 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre for the Aggression Fighting Championships 16th installment.

This date marks exactly one year and a week to the day of his horrific car accident that left many to wonder if the young promising fighter would ever set foot in the cage again. Curtis broke his right humorous in half with 7 fractures in total coming off of it, with severe radial and ulnar nerve damage.

His doctor said, “If the skin had ripped he would have lost his arm.” It was described as if someone took a sledgehammer and just smashed everything in there.

It took a 7 hour surgery which included re-applying the muscle, tissue, bone and installing plates and pins then stapled his arm back together. Demarce described it as a Frankenstein project on his arm.

Curtis has gone through extensive rehabilitation to get back into fighting form and now he’s on a mission to make a push for an AFC title in his new weight class of 145lbs. Curtis is known for putting on absolute wars with some of the top fighters in the world.

When asked what it means to him to be able to compete again Curtis replied, “It means everything to me, When an accident or tragic time happens in your life you really start to have doubts and concerns of will I ever be able to compete again and do what I love? But to overcome it and be able to make your return in your home province with friends, family and fans it really means everything to me and everything I have worked for. Great feeling.”

Curtis was asked what fans can expect from him March 23 and he responded, “Fans can expect a very hungry re focused, motivated Demarce. I have a lot on the line coming off my rehab especially with the doubters and in my hometown. I will be showcasing a lot of skills that I did not in previous bouts and fans can expect an epic fight.  I don’t sit around feeling sorry for myself, I turn tragedy into triumph.”

“It’s truly an honor and pleasure to have Curtis back in the AFC cage, I expect nothing but what we’ve always seen from him, a fight of the night type of performance that ends with Curtis leaving it all in the cage and the fans going crazy.” Said AFC promoter Darren Owen.

Be sure to come out and support this Brandon Manitoba native as he competes in his home province, he will be looking to make a statement in his return.
