The name “Hierarchy” says it all.
Fivestar Fight League will return for their sixth installment on May 10 in Dawson Creek, BC. The card, entitled “Hierarchy”, will have six titles up for grabs; from bantamweight all the way up to heavyweight. Not only will the titles be up for grabs, but there will be number one contender bouts on the card as well. This is the first time a promotion has done this on a single card.
In the heavyweight division, Ryan “Vanilla Gorilla” Fortin (7-4) and Karl “Freak” Erickson (4-0) will go head-to-head for the Fivestar Fight League heavyweight championship. This bout is guaranteed to be exciting as Fortin has never been to the judges scorecards in his 11 professional bouts and Erickson has finished all four of his opponents in the very first round.
The middleweight title will be up for grabs as Brad Stewart (5-2) takes on Matt “The Riotmaker” Baker (8-3). These two will tango in a rematch from 2010 when they fought to a controversial split decision which Baker won.
Baker’s teammate “Ruthless” Ryan Chiappe (9-8) will take on the winner of Aaron Shmyr (4-2) and Sheldon Westcott (6-1) who are fighting in Yellowknife on April 13 at Fivestar Fight League 5 for the Fivestar Welterweight Title.
Zachary Gait (4-3) is coming off a unanimous decision victory at Fivestar Fight League 4 and will do battle with Chad “The Diamond” Freeman (7-5) for the lightweight championship belt.
The featherweight championship is also up for grabs as undefeated Travis Mathews (3-0) takes on one of the lower mainlands best featherweights, Shawn Albrecht (8-5).
Sean Quinn (7-5) will take on the always dangerous Eric Wilson (5-3) for the Fivestar Bantamweight title.
Nick Campbell (4-3) will take on Jon Ganshorn (5-3) in a battle of Saskatoon to determine the number one contender in the Fivestar Fight League light heavyweight division.
The only title that isn’t being contested at FFL 6 is the light heavyweight, as Adam MacDonald (4-0) and Peter Nolan (4-1) will be fighting April 13 (at Fivestar Fight League 5) in Yellowknife for the Fivestar Light Heavyweight Title.
