James Te Huna gets a chance to make an impact in the UFC light heavyweight division, stepping in on short notice to meet Brazilian savage Glover Teixeira at UFC 160 on May 25 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC confirmed today that the kiwi born Aussie will replace Ryan Bader in a fight with Teixeria in the co-main event of the blockbuster pay-per-view headlined by Cain Velasquez defending his UFC title against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva.
Teixeira is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous fighters in the 205 pound (93kg) division. His much anticipated Octagon debut came last year, since then he has looked dominate in three straight victories, most recently a shut out of former UFC light heavyweight titlist Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Te Huna has silently put together an impressive run. His lone setback since joining the UFC in 2010 was to top contender contender Alexander Gustafsson, recently upsetting Canadian import Ryan Jimmo.
