Johny Hendricks utilized great takedowns to earn unanimous decision victory over Carlos Condit

The #1 and #2 ranked welterweight fighters Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit look to gain true number one contender status in the co-main event.

Hendricks started out throwing his big left bomb right off the bat and caught Condit on a couple of occasions. There was no fear in Hendricks’ eyes and continued to push forward. Hendricks landed a couple of great takedowns in the first round and showed some control on the ground.The two traded shots to finish the round.

Condit landed a few punches to start the second, but Hendricks unfazed continued to push forward. Hendricks landed another takedown, but Condit was able to get up. Hendricks pushed forward and landed yet another takedown. Condit lands a couple of great punches and kicks, but Hendricks instantly lands a great takedown.Yet another takedown ends the round for Hendricks.

In between round 2 and 3, Hendricks told his corner that his left hand was hurt.

Hendricks continues to throw the left hand even though it’s supposedly hurt. Condit attempts to throw a kick, but Hendricks once again lands a takedown. Hendricks has landed 9/11 takedowns thus far. Condit landed a big shot that had Hendricks’ eyes roll back, but again Hendricks was able to land a takedown. When they got back to the feet, Condit once again landed some big blows and Hendricks dragged him to the ground. The two finish the fight throwing punches.
