Last week MMASucka.com brought word that Paul Cheng had signed with the biggest MMA promotion in Asia, ONE FC. We have now learned that he has signed a world exclusive six-fight deal.

According to Cheng’s manager Darcy McBride, there was other interest in Paul and they had to weigh their options. There were definitely a couple fights that would have been otherwise appealing without the ONE FC deal.

We are very excited for the opportunity in front of Paul. He has worked his entire life to compete in front of his friends and family in Asia. He will now get that chance.

From Pro Football, to Boxing and now MMA Paul has always been a team guy. Now he has a team behind him at ONE FC that is as excited as we are to begin marketing him in Asia.”

The Typhoon will debut in the summer of 2013, which looks to be the ONE FC 10 fight card.

Former PRIDE and UFC fighter Denis Kang has been a big help in getting Paul this fight and has began to mentor him in a sense, helping him understand the opportunity in front of him. Kang is expected to be on the same card.

Cheng (3-1) most recently fought at AFC 12 this past November and obliterated his opponent Ryan Hunter by knockout in the very first round.

You can expect to announce an opponent and fight date in the coming weeks. Follow @typhooncheng and @echelonfm for all the latest on Paul’s ONE FC career.
