The UFC flyweight title will be on the line as Demetrious Johnson takes on John Moraga in the main event at UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle, Washington.
UFC officials announced the headlining match-up on Wednesday.
MMASucka.com previously mentioned that Johnson was vying for the shot, as it is his home state of Washington. Now his wish has come true.
Johnson (17-2-1) is currently on a three fight winning streak. He most recently defended his flyweight title in the headlining slot of UFC on FOX 6 where he beat John Dodson.
Johnson won the title back at UFC 152, defeating Joseph Benavidez by split decision.
Moraga (13-1) is riding an impressive seven-fight winning streak. His most recent victory came over Chris Cariaso at UFC 155 this past December.
Moraga made his UFC debut back at UFC on FOX 4 where he beat Ulysses Gomez by TKO in the very first round.
Johnson and Moraga were supposed to tangle back at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, however “Mighty Mouse” was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury.
UFC on FOX 8 will go down on July 27 from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. Another big name fight announced for the card is Jake Ellenberger taking on Rory MacDonald.
