A pair of match-ups have been announced for the ever expanding UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2 event, as Sarah Kaufman will take on Sara McMann and Bubba McDaniel will square off against Brad Tavares.
UFC officials announced the latest match-ups on Tuesday for the “UFC on FOX Sports 1 2: Kampmann vs. Condit 2” card.
Kaufman (16-2) was riding a three-fight win streak until she met up with current UFC bantamweight women’s champion Ronda Rousey last August at a Strikeforce event. She has since gone on to defeat Leslie Smith by split decision at Invicta FC 5 in April. This will be the Canadian’s first appearance inside the UFC Octagon.
McMann (7-0) made her promotional debut at UFC 159 in April, where she defeated Shiela Gaff by TKO in the very first round. She has fought in numerous promotions throughout her seven professional fights, but the two that stand out are Invicta FC and ProElite.
McDaniel (21-6) was a contestant on the seventeenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. There was no surprise that he was chosen by coach Jon Jones, as he trains with the champ at Team Jackson’s in Albuquerque. He lost his preliminary match and was brought back as a wild card, but lost that fight as well. Even though he lost two fights on the show McDaniel was brought back to fight in the Finale and he defeated Gilbert Smith by submissions. He is currently riding a seven-fight win streak.
Tavares (10-1) also a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter, however he was on season 11. He lost in the semi-finals to eventual winner Court McGee. He fought at the Finale in a rematch against Seth Baczynski and defeated him by unanimous decision. He has fought a total of six fights inside the Octagon and holds a record of 5-1, with his lone loss to Aaron Simpson.
UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2 will take place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on August 28. The main event is a welterweight rematch between former interim title holder Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.
