Substance Cage Combat has 13 fighters approved for debut event, more to come

SCCContest

TORONTO, Ont. — Substance Cage Combat announced Friday that 13 fighters have received approval by the Ontario Athletic Commission to compete on the promotion’s inaugural card June 29 in Toronto and that the province’s governing body is currently reviewing a handful of other applications for the GTA-based card.

According to SCC president Neil Forester, a few more notable additions to the card, including the opponent for local popular co-main event fighter Alex Ricci, should be announced in the next week.

The highly anticipated main event showdown between two of Canada’s best flyweights, Peel Region police constable Adrian “The Bully” Wooley and Ottawa-based Canadian Forces Sgt. Randy “Relentless” Turner is a go, and should be worth the price of admission alone. Both men have their eyes set on making it to the UFC, and the winner of this bout should garner some notice from the promotion.
