“The Count” will be preparing for a hometown showdown against “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” when the UFC makes its tentatively-scheduled return to Manchester, England on October 26th.
John Morgan of MMAJunkie broke the news earlier tonight.
Michael Bisping vs. Mark Munoz added to upcoming UFC card in Manchester, England
Michael “The Count” Bisping (24-5) is the UFC’s most popular fighter from the United Kingdom. The mouthy middleweight has faced off with nearly everybody in the middleweight division, but always seemed to stall out against top 5 competition. After a TKO loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 7, “The Count” bounced back with a controversial technical decision over Alan Belcher at UFC 159. Will Bisping be able to renew his winning streak with a victory over Munoz?
Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz (13-3) is another fighter looking to climb his way back up the ranks. After a brutal TKO loss to current middleweight champ Chris Weidman at UFC on Fuel TV 4 back in July of 2012, Munoz missed nearly a year due to injuries, only to make a triumphant return with a dominant decision victory over Tim Boetch at UFC 162. Will “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” be able to continue forward on his quest for a rematch with Weidman at the expense of “The Count?”
The UFC is expected to return to Manchester, England on October 26th, but the date has not been officially set. When it is, the main event is expected to be Bisping vs. Munoz. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other upcoming events.
