Video: Kotetsu Boku vs Vuyisile Colossa Preview

|

On one side of the cage, you have the promotion’s first ever 155-lbs champion – a fighter who throws a barrage of heavy punches, all with knockout intentions. A “slugger”, would be a word that best describes him.

On the other end, however, you have a kickboxing and Muay Thai specialist. A South African born striking extraordinaire, who loves the stand-up game more than anything else.

So fight fans, what can you expect when both these fighters collide with one another on the biggest stage in all of Asian Mixed Martial Arts?

Kotetsu “No Face” Boku (20-8-2) is set to face Vuyisile Colossa (5-4) in the co-main event of ONE FC 10: Champions & Warriors, which takes place September 13th at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Boku, who was crowned ONE FC’s inaugural Lightweight champion back at ONE FC 6: Rise of Kings, proved to the world that all he needed was just one clean shot to the chin to take home a victory. But his first title defense was a disappointing one. Facing off against grappling maestro Shinya Aoki is no easy task, and Boku found out why at ONE FC 8: Kings & Champions. Aoki dominated proceedings from the get go, eventually forcing a tap from Boku in the 2nd round.

The South Korean lost his belt that night and will be determined, more than ever, to get back in the contenders’ mix.

But standing in his way will be another fighter with a point to prove. Vuyisile ‘The Cheetah’ Colossa has always entertained fans with his fast and crisp array of striking techniques but was unable to disperse rising star Lowen Tynanes in his previous outing.  As such, Colossa, with 4 losses in 9 professional MMA bouts, finds himself in need of a big win.
