“The Real Deal” Ross Pearson (15-6) first came to the attention of MMA fans worldwide during the 9th season of The Ultimate Fighter. Since then, Pearson has gone 5-3 in the UFC, and looks to get a 6th victory at the expense of Guillard. While knockouts may come to mind when you think of “The Real Deal,” he is actually a surprisingly well-rounded fighter, with equal amounts of (T)KO, submission, and decision wins under his belt. Will he be able to get the job done against “The Young Assassin” in Manchester?
“The Young Assassin” Melvin Guillard (31-12) has long been a story of unlimited potential that’s never quite met. A scintillating striker with fast hands, Guillard’s downfall has always been his porous submission defense. Still, with 20 wins by some form of knockout, and only 9 losses by submission, “The Young Assassin” is more than capable of defeating anybody in the lightweight division if he can somehow connect his knuckles with their chin. Will he be able to put fist to face and and put a rest to “The Real Deal” on October 26th?
UFC Fight Night in Manchester goes down on October 26th from the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. The card is currently headlined by a middleweight bout pitting the ever-brash Michael Bisping against the humble smasher Mark Munoz.
