Sheila Gaff becomes first woman to be released by the UFC

After back-to-back losses in the UFC, women’s bantamweight Sheila Gaff has been released from the organization. Gaff becomes the first female fighter to be cut by the promotion since the women debuted back in February.

The “German Tank” made her Octagon debut at UFC 159 in April where she lost to Sara McMann via TKO and followed up with a loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 163 also via TKO.

Prior to her UFC debut, Gaff was on a three-fight winning streak, with all three victories coming by first round stoppage.

News of her release was first broken by German media outlet GroundandPound.de where she also spoke about her time with the UFC.

Disappointments and defeats happen to all athletes in this career, but I will go on. Most of all I am sorry that I could not show my fans what I can really do. In the last two weeks my love and uplifting words many of my fans have helped.

No word on what Gaff has planned next, but keep it locked to MMASucka.com for details as they arise.
