Kendall Grove signs with Bellator

|

Former UFC competitor “Da Spyder” Kendall Grove will be making his return to Spike TV with Bellator FC. “Da Spyder” announced the news on Friday with a pair of tweets which unfortunately fell under the radar due to the UFC Fight Night 26 hype. This will be both new territory and a homecoming, as Grove first rose to prominence on Spike as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter.

Kendall Grove signs with Bellator

Grove (18-13, 1 N/C) first rose to prominence in the Ultimate Fighting Championships on Season 3 of the Ultimate Fighter as a member of Team Tito. Grove would run wild in the competition, even defeating Ed “Short Fuse” Herman in the finals for the six-figure contract. After that, Kendall would go on to develop a reputation as a streaky fighter, winning a couple of fights, then turning around and losing a couple as well. Released by the UFC after consecutive losses to Demian Maia and Tim Boetsch, “Da Spyder” would go on to mostly resurrect his career on the independent and regional circuits, with wins over names like Ikuhisa Minowa and Derek Brunson. Grove was last seen fighting for Global Warrior Challenge on June 29th of this year, where he defeated the UK’s Danny Mitchell by TKO in the 1st round.

No fights have been announced for Bellator’s latest middleweight signing at this time. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other MMA news.
