Wednesday night marked a fantastic return to live MMA action, as UFC Fight Night 27 went down from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The main event between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann showed fans why the company made the rematch four years later. Kampmann had Condit’s number in the first round, landing numerous takedowns and utilizing his jab. However come rounds 2 through 4, Condit found his range and eventually finished the Dane in the fourth round. The fight earned both combatants ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.

In his UFC debut, Brandon Thatch showed why he is a force to be reckoned with, as he blasted his way through former TUF contestant Justin Edwards early in the first round. The finish earned Thatch ‘Knockout of the Night’.

Zak Cummings was a member of seventeenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but was forced out of the show due to an injury. Four months after the show wrapped he finally made his UFC debut and it was a doozy. He snatched up a first round D’arce choke to earn him ‘Submission of the Night’.

UFC President Dana White announced that Thatch, Cummings, Condit and Kampmann all earned themselves $50,000.
