The amateur MMA series will feature amateur events held across Asia. This series is part of ONE FC’s continued emphasis on growing the sport of MMA in Asia and will be held in partnership with ONE FC network partners to provide opportunities for the exclusive gym partners within the network, as well as create a developmental league for ONE FC to groom amateur fighters and monitor their progress.

The ONE ASIA AMATEUR MMA SERIES was initially conceived at the 2013 ONE ASIA MMA SUMMIT earlier this year, which brought together the industry’s biggest power players for a weekend of discussion and idea-sharing.

The series will also integrate opportunities with existing amateur MMA events held across Asia to further develop the MMA talent across the entire region to provide increased exposure to the events.

CEO of ONE Fighting Championship, Victor Cui, stated “This is the largest amateur MMA series in Asia that brings together every major gym, partner, and current amateur events as part of the ONE FC Network.  This is game-changing for MMA in Asia as ONE FC continues to build on our 90% market share and by leading the amateur MMA development by holding amateur events in major cities across Asia and regularly at once a month.  This is big.  Very big and I’m excited to be building this Asia-wide amateur series because we have already received tremendous support from our sponsors, partners, and gyms on this initiative.”

ONE FC’s Vice President of Operations, Matt Hume, stated “This will be the biggest and most professionally run MMA amateur series in the world and I’m very proud to be driving this project.  There are thousands of talented fighters in Asia and this now gives ONE FC the opportunity to work closely with them and support their development through competition.”
