It was close.
In fact, Raphael Assuncao was in jeopardy in the first frame when his opponent, T.J. Dillashaw, had a deep Rear-Naked Choke/neck crank submission attempt on him. The Brazilian was also taken down for the very first time in his UFC career.
Assuncao edges Dillashaw on the scorecards in lively Bantamweight encounter
Assuncao, though, persevered through the last 10 minutes, posing problems for Dillashaw in the striking department through his rapid change(s) of fight stances. He turned it up a gear in the second round with hard punches, whilst scoring with accurate and fast strikes in the third.
Assuncao took home a split decision victory in the end, in what was a really close but lively 135-lbs encounter.
