Following the UFC 166 main event, Joe Rogan asked UFC President Dana White what would be next for heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and he answered, “Werdum’s probably next. It makes the most sense.”

Fabricio Werdum (17-5-1) was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC on FUEL TV 10 where he defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via verbal armbar submission. He is currently riding a three-fight winning streak with his other wins against Roy Nelson and Mike Russow.
Velasquez (13-1) has only been beaten once in his mixed martial arts career and is being considered one of the best heavyweights ever. After being beaten by Junior dos Santos at UFC on FOX 1 he has since gone on a four-fight winning streak with victories over Antonio Silva twice and dos Santos twice as well.
