As announced this morning, Kelvin Gastelum has been forced to withdraw from his UFC on FOX 9 bout with Court McGee due to a knee injury. It didn’t take long for the UFC to find a replacement for McGee – announcing late on Tuesday that Ryan LaFlare would step in to fight in December.

LaFlare (9-0) is still undefeated in his MMA career and 2-0 inside the UFC Octagon. Most recently LaFlare fought at UFC Fight Night 32 this past weekend where he took home a unanimous decision victory against Santiago Ponzinibbio. The Long Island MMA product made his UFC debut against Ben Alloway at UFC on FUEL TV 9 where he won via unanimous decision.
McGee (16-3) decided to make the cut to welterweight after losing two in a row and has since won two in a row against Josh Neer and Robert Whittaker. After winning season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter he has gone 5-2 inside the Octagon.
UFC on FOX 9 is expected to go down from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. on December 14. It will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson vs. Joseph Benavidez in a rematch for the UFC flyweight title.
