Canadian John Makdessi will return to the Octagon against undefeated Alan Patrick at February’s UFC 169 event.
UFC officials announced the lightweight match-up on Tuesday.

Makdessi (12-2) started his career with a bang, going nine straight undefeated including his first two UFC appearances. He then hit a road block and lost two in a row to Anthony Njokuani and Dennis Hallman. At UFC 154 he bounced back with a win over fellow Canadian Sam Stout, followed that with a decision over Daron Cruickshank and most recently knocked out Renee Forte at UFC 165.
Patrick (11-0) made his UFC debut in October against Garett Whiteley, where he won by first round TKO. “Nuguette” is undefeated in his professional career with his other ten wins coming on the Brazilian regional scene.
UFC 169 goes down on February 1, 2014 at the Prudential Center at Newark, N.J. The main event will feature a bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Renan Barao. Also on the card, the featherweight title is up for grabs, as Jose Aldo takes on Ricardo Lamas.
