In the second fight on the UFC on FOX 9 main card, featherweights Chad Mendes and Nik Lentz went to war.

Lentz opened up with the first flurry, but couldn’t capitalize. Mendes used his speed and landed a big bomb that stumbled Lentz, but he was able to hold on. On a big punch attempt from Lentz, Mendes was able to duck under and get the double leg takedown. When the two got back to their feet, Mendes landed a couple more power punches. When Lentz pushed forward, Mendes was able to get another takedown. The two stood up and Mendes landed a big left hook off the break. The referee then stopped the fight for a second due to an accidental eye poke by Mendes.
