In a somewhat unexpected fashion, Cris Cyborg’s manager Tito Ortiz has reached out to UFC women’s bantamweight Miesha Tate via Twitter. The former UFC star sent out the 140 character communique asking Tate to come help prepare the former Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion, and his belief that such a partnership would be mutually beneficial.

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (12-1, 1 N/C) is still technically undefeated in her last, but the black mark of a positive test for PEDs has had a negative impact on how the MMA community has perceived her. Still, since returning from suspension, Cyborg has gone 2-0 for Invicta, defeating Fiona Muxlow and Marloes Coenen over the course of 2013. No fights have officially been announced for her in that time.

Miesha “Cupcake” Tate (13-5) is currently on the first 2 fight losing skid of her career. After falling by TKO to Cat Zingano at the TUF 17 Finale, Tate would go on to coach opposite Ronda Rousey on the 18th season of The Ultimate Fighter after Zingano was injured in training. The subsequent coaches bout at UFC 168 saw Tate once again tap out to Ronda Rousey’s armbar, this time in the 3rd round. She does not have a fight booked at this time.
