Legacy Fighting Championship kicks of 2014 in its hometown of Houston, TX on Friday, January 31st at the legendary and historic Arena Theatre. The 12-bout fight card showcases a multitude of Houston talent including 4 OZ. Fight Clubs Jeremy Mahone and Alex Black, as well as Hard Head Hitters rising star, Charlie Ontiveros. And like any stacked card the co-main and main event are the two to watch as Elias Garcia takes on wrestling phenom and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo and UFC veteran Time Means takes on Houston’s own Artenas “Machine Gun” Young.
Tim Means and Artenas Young set for Legacy FC 27
The co-main event features Corpus Christi’s own Elias Garcia taking on Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo. Garcia, whose most notable win comes against MTV’s Caged star Matt Schnell, serves for the National Coast Guard and holds a professional record of 4-0. His opponent, Henry Cejudo, is not one to be taken lightly. Cejudo, who began his career in MMA in early 2013, became the youngest American wrestler to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 21 and has yet to slow down since retiring from wrestling in 2012. Both fighters hold undefeated records and are set to fight at a catch weight of 125lbs.
The main event features UFC veteran Tim Means taking on hometown favorite Artenas “Machine Gun” Young. A former King of the Cage Lightweight and Junior Welterweight Champion, Means displayed his skills in his Legacy debut with an impressive knock out against UFC veteran Pete Spratt. Means, who holds a professional record of 16 wins, 5 loses, and one draw, is set to face hometown favorite Artenas “Machine Gun” Young in a Welterweight match that has the potential to be one of the biggest fights of the year. After a controversial split decision loss to Eric Davila at Legacy FC22 in August and the devastating loss of his mother in October, Young returned to the cage in November for Legacy FC25 and continued his run for a title shot with a decision win over Jonathan Harris.
