With the possibility of a storm coming through New Jersey over Super Bowl weekend, the NFL has been planning a potential move of Super Bowl XLVIII to Saturday. With that being the case, the UFC is keeping an eye on things.

If Super Bowl moves to Saturday, UFC 169 will move to Sunday

When UFC President Dana White found out that UFC 169 could possibly be competing with the Super Bowl, his comment was simple, “Wow, wouldn’t that be a fu*ker? Yeah that would hurt.”

If the Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos game is moved to the Saturday night, then the UFC has been coming up with a contingency plan — that is according to UFC’s Senior Director of Public Relations Dave Sholler.

“We’re coming up with a contingency plan as a result. It obviously requires a lot of coordination with the venue, the fighters, and our TV production crews around the world, so we’ll be monitoring the situation very closely.”

The plan is in place, but the likelihood of either event needing to move is very slim.
