Joe Ellenberger will make his UFC debut on the same card as brother Jake against Yancy Medeiros at UFC 172 in Baltimore.
Joe Ellenberger faces Yancy Medeiros in debut at UFC 172
UFC officials announced the match-up on Monday.
Ellenberger (14-1) is currently riding a two fight winning streak and has only lost once in his professional career to fellow UFC fighter Justin Salas. Most recently he defeated Joe Wilk via first round TKO at Victory Fighting Championship 38 in December.
Medeiros (10-1) is 1-1 inside the Octagon and his one loss was due to a thumb injury against Rustam Khabilov at UFC 159. His sophomore efforts came in November, as he knocked out veteran Yves Edwards in the very first round at UFC Fight Night 31.
The Ellenbeger vs. Medeiros match will likely be placed on the preliminary portion of the fight card.
UFC 172 will air LIVE on PPV, following prelims on FOX Sport 1 and additional expected undercard bouts on UFC Fight Pass. The main event will be for the light heavyweight championship, as Jon Jones takes on Glover Teixeira.
