It’s been almost three-months since we saw the former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre inside the Octagon. While he hasn’t officially retired, many believe he is done with the sport. However St-Pierre himself told the Ottawa Sun, “Right now, I take a break. I don’t give myself any preference, you know? There is a chance I will come back.”
Will the heavy 2014 Canadian schedule make Georges St-Pierre return?
On Wednesday, the UFC announced their 2014 Canadian schedule and they are making the trip north of the border for five events — could this force St-Pierre back inside the cage. The once pay-per-view king could headline any one of the returning match-ups, or does the ambassador of 888poker just want to sit back and relax? Maybe the ambassador is having fun playing online poker at home — would you wish to know how to play online poker?
The organization is set to travel to St-Pierre’s home province of Quebec on two separate occasions in this calendar year, which could be perfect for the former champ. The question is, does he want to fight? Or is he enjoying his away time?
“I’m 32 years old and this is the first time I have Christmas with my family. I spent some time, but I never really had free time, total free time like I did. It was time for me to do it. I’m very happy I did it and I don’t regret any of it.”
Whether we see “Rush” inside the Octagon or not in 2014 is yet to be known, however with the abundance of Canadian events, I’m sure fans would like to see it.
