After early storm, Rory MacDonald triumphs over Demain Maia in Unanimous Decision victory

Maia, a five-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champ, took advantage with his grappling prowess and controlled proceedings in top position, even gaining full mount for a considerable amount of time. But MacDonald showcased his heart and fought through valiantly, ending the round on a high note.

The Canadian then picked up where he left off as he out-struck his Brazilian counterpart completely in the second frame. Maia, who looked visibly tired and fatigued, struggled to cope with MacDonald’s constant aggression and occasional onslaught of strikes.

The third round was reminiscent of the second, and it was MacDonald who deservedly took home a Unanimous Decision victory in the end.
