A lightweight showdown between Erik Koch and Daron Cruickshank has been slated for UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Thursday.
Koch (14-3) made his UFC lightweight debut at UFC 170 and finished Rafaello Oliveira in spectacular fashion in the very first round. The move to lightweight came after losing two in a row at featherweight.
Cruickshank (14-4) made his start inside the Octagon after a stint on The Ultimate Fighter and won his first two fights. He has since gone on a roller-coaster of wins and losses. Most recently Cruickshank knocked out Mike Rio by spinning wheel kick at UFC on FOX 10 in January.
No word as to where the Koch vs. Cruickshank bout will placed on the UFC Fight Night 40 fight card.
UFC Fight Night will go down on May 10 from Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena.
